Smells good.

I usually bring my lunch to work 3 days a week and eat at the cafeteria 2 days a week. Every time that I bring something that either I heat in the microwave or go down to the cafeteria and bring back to my desk, the woman in the cube next to me says, “mmm that smells good.” Every time! Yes I know my food smells good and it tastes even better so shut up and let me eat my lunch in peace.

Remember

Remember those post cards that said "Wish you were her" with a picture of a girl in a bikini on them? Those are awful and anybody who ever sent one of those should be smacked in the head.

P.S. No, I have never sent one of those post cards.

Things I like about my job part 2

Things I like about my job.

The thing I like best about my job is that they never told me a time that I had to start by, so I pretty much can't be late. This comes in handy on the once every 2-3 months that I miss the alarm clock and sleep in to about 8:00 like this morning. Stay tuned for more things I like about my job in my next post!

EditPadLite

I am using this editor right now. It works pretty good. Stupid M$ Word doesn't let you search and replace big chucks of text.... I hate it soooo much.

Blonde joke

A blonde is driving down the road and sees another blonde out in a corn field, sitting in a row boat, rowing. So, she pulls her car over, steps out and yells to her, "You know, it's blondes like you that give the rest of us a bad name. If I could swim, I'd come out there and kick you butt!"

Wallpaper of the week

This is my wallpaper this week.

Growing a beard

I didn't shave on my trip to Lake Michigan, so here I am, 5 days unshaven and I've decided to grow a beard. Mostly because my wife wants me to, but I think I'll look pretty cool.

I found this site about a guy shaving his beard. The animated GIF is funny. Make sure you click on them to show the whole thing. (The preview on the main page is shrunk, click on it to see more. It's hilarious.)

Rules of the road people!

I hate when bicyclists do not follow the rules of the road. Today, on the way in to work, I saw one such offender. Here is how it all went down. I came up to a 4-way stop. I was behind one car, there was a car across the intersection headed in the opposite direction and there was one car to my left; everybody was going straight. It was the car in front of me and the car opposite turns to go. They went fine. I pulled up to the stop sign. The car at left went. Now, it is my turn right? Nope! Some idiot on a bike comes tearing through from the left not even stopping at the stop sign or paying attention. I saw her coming, so I started to go just a little bit to try to scare her. If I would have been thinking, I should have honked the horn and yelled out the window at her to stop at stop signs. No wonder there are so many car-bicycle accidents. New York had 6,868 in 2001.

Long weekend!

I’m outta here! Long weekend here I come!!!!!!!! See ya next week.

Car issues

I was trying to change my fuel filter last night and I completely stripped the nut. What and I gunna do? Anybody have any ideas how I can get it off? The nuts are rusted together too. I used a lot of PB whatever it is called lubricant, but it still did not break free. It made me really mad.

Rubber Band Balls

Rubber band balls are cool. Mine is perfect, it is the size of a baseball. I am tossing it up and catching it right now.

Special occasions everyday!

I moved down to the department I am in now on 6/1. There is one other person who I would say has the same job as I do. She is allowed to get away with everything, because she has been the only one doing the job for 4 years. Our work requires us to take a 45 minute lunch break everyday. Well, she skips it saying that she either combines her two 15 minute breaks or works through lunch. So, I asked my boss if I could have the same arrangements, and she told me no. I would only be allowed to skip my lunch on special occasion circumstances only. Well, yesterday was a special occasion circumstance and so is today and if she doesn’t like it, she can kiss my butt cuz that’s not fair.

Largemouth bass

I want to go fishing and catch one of these.

Ultrasonic hearing

I was talking to my wife the other day about ultrasonic hearing.

A few years back, I put one of those electronic ultrasonic pest repellants in my bedroom. After I was laying in bed at night, and the house was quiet, I could hear a high pitched clicking noise, especially loud in my left ear, and it was driving me crazy. I finally figured out that I was hearing the ultrasonic sound being emitted from the device.

According to information I found, humans usually have a hearing range of 20 Hz - 20kHz. On one site for a manufacture of one of these such devices, they claim to have a range of 26 kHz - 74 kHz. Apparently, my hearing range is at least 26 kHz, maybe more in my left ear since it was so much louder in my left than my right.

No guinea pig for me.. :(

Unfortunately, the person at work who was giving away their guinea pig had already given it away. I think the kids would have enjoyed a new pet, but oh well.

I was nicely surprised this morning with four pieces of work sitting on my chair. Well, that took all of 45 minutes, but at least I had something to do for a little while. I got all my bills paid and checked my site stats. Now I feel like researching something interesting, but I don’t know what yet. I’ll probably research something scientific… Who knows.

Wallpaper of the week

This is my wallpaper this week.

Good morning....

Well, it was a nice weekend. I went swimming with the family on Saturday and on Sunday, we went to the county fair and saw the demolition derby. The demo derby was cool; I've always thought that I would like to try driving in one someday.

Just got Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday this week. I have off Thursday and Friday off to go up to Lake Michigan for Salmon fishing. I’m being kinda a rebel though, because everybody else always leaves on Thursday night and drives half way, but I am going to leave early on Friday and drive all the way there. On Friday we fish at about 12:30. Two reasons; I don’t want to spend the extra money for the hotel room the night before and I don’t want to ride with those slow drivers. It’s only 322 miles, but it takes them about 6.5 hours to drive there. I’m going to try to make it there under 5. (322/5 = 64.4 mph average, no problem, right?)
